Level 2 Food Safety ( one day) 

Level 2 ensures that food handlers are aware of the hazards and controls associated with the types of food they produce.

The course syllabus includes;

  • Introduction to Food Safety
  • Microbiological hazards
  • Food poisoning and its control
  • HACCP from purchase to service
  • Food handlers and personal hygiene
  • Food pests and control
  • Cleaning and disinfection
  • Food safety law and enforcement

Assessment

A multiple choice  paper will be taken at the end of the session. All successful candidates will be awarded a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.

Certification:

 All those that pass the multiple choice assessment receive a fully accredited   certificate  by an Ofqual recognised awarding body

 

 

 Level 1 National Award in Food Safety

This course is ideal for anyone who handles food for the public and who needs evidence of food hygiene training for example;  waiting staff, care home, staff schools, nurseries, prisons, voluntary organisations etc.  This course meets the minimum legal requirements.

The course syllabus includes;

  • Contamination and cross contamination
  • Food Safety Hazards
  • Importance and use of protective clothing
  • Correct hand washing
  • Reporting an illness
  • Wound dressings
  • Waste disposal
  • Hazards caused by pests

 

Assessment

A multiple choice  paper will be taken at the end of the session. All successful candidates will be awarded a  Food Hygiene Certificate valid for 3yrs
