Level 3 Paediatric First Aid for Babies and Children (RQF)

This is a 2 day course  ( OFSTED & EYFS approved) which provides   theoretical and practical training in First Aid techniques that are specific to infants and children

It also complies with  the law that since 2008 requires anyone working with under 5s in an early education and childcare setting to have a fully trained Pediatric first aider both on and off site .

Ideal for those working in primary schools, nursery’s ,after school clubs and childminders  or parents who want to increase their knowledge of first aid for children .

The course syllabus includes;

  • Assessing an emergency situation and acting safely and effectively
  • Poisons, stings and bites
  • CPR training
  • Choking
  • Spinal injuries
  • Treating unconscious casualty
  • Being able to recognise and treat childhood illnesses
  • Shock
  • Strains, sprains & fractures
  • Infantile convulsions
  • Anaphylaxis

For the purposes of Registered Childcare provision and Early Years childcare within England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the Candidate must successfully complete the full 2 day Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid.

Assessment & Award

Ongoing by the instructor, with a multiple choice exam paper on each day leading to  an accreddited  certificate by an OFQUAL approved awarding body

Level 3 Emergency  Paediatric First Aid for Babies and Children (RQF)

 This is a day course providing  theoretical and practical training in Emergency  First Aid techniques that are specific to infants and children and is  is suitable for parents, relatives or carers of young children and babies.

The course syllabus includes;

 

  • CPR training
  • Choking
  • Treating unconscious casualty
  • Being able to recognise and treat childhood illnesses
  • Shock
  • Strains, sprains & fractures
  • Infantile convulsions
  • Anaphylaxis

Assessment and Award
